Individual Therapy

My approach to individual therapy is grounded in a warm, collaborative, and evidence-based approach. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and third-wave behavioral therapies such as DBT and ACT, I focus on helping you understand your patterns, strengthen your coping skills, and build a life with more stability, meaning, and emotional clarity. My style is supportive and flexible, and sessions are tailored to your goals, history, and identity. Therapy is a space where you can reflect openly, gain practical tools, and learn to navigate difficult emotions with more confidence and effectiveness.

I work with adults facing a wide range of concerns, especially:

-
Anxiety (generalized anxiety and worry, phobias, panic, OCD)
-
Depression
-
Trauma, PTSD, or chronic nightmares
-
Emotional dysregulation (e.g., mood swings, reactivity)
-
Sleep difficulties (insomnia, circadian rhythm sleep disorders)
-
Relationship and interpersonal stress
Our work typically begins with an initial assessment, where we explore what brings you in, clarify your goals, and identify the patterns that are keeping you stuck. As therapy progresses, we integrate skill-building, insight-oriented work, and experiential practice both in and outside of sessions. I emphasize collaboration and regular check-ins so we can track progress together and adjust direction as needed. As you move toward readiness for termination, we’ll reflect on your growth, revisit your goals, and identify strategies to maintain your gains long-term. My aim is to help you leave therapy with deeper understanding, greater psychological flexibility, and tools you can rely on well into the future.
As part of this work, I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities chosen to fit your goals, symptoms, and preferences. These approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, Nightmare Exposure and Rescripting, Behavioral Activation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Panic Disorder, Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD, Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy, Behavioral Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for ADHD, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, and Motivational Interviewing/Motivational Enhancement Therapy. We will work together to decide what approach and skills will be most likely to help you. Each of these methods offers different tools for understanding your experience, shifting unhelpful patterns, and practicing new ways of responding to thoughts, emotions, and situations in daily life. We will work together to decide what approach and skills will be most likely to help you.
